About Me

Hello, I’m Jenny, a comedy writer from Yorkshire who now lives in Buckinghamshire because Thatcher shut down all the comedy mines in the north in the 80s. I have a couple of greenhouses in a long thin strip of a garden, more of a glorified ginnell really, and an allotment where I grow fruit, veg, disappointment and guilt.

Despite not knowing or being related to anyone rich, I have decided that a large inheritance will enable me one day to run my own smallholding. Perhaps have my own business? An organic nursery or eco-self-sufficient glampsite or a local-produce farm shop with artisan yurt café – basically anything which will enable me to be regularly featured in the Observer.

In the meantime I tinker on my own bit of earth and write about the things that occur to me, and may have occurred to you too. I don’t offer any expert advice or professional know-how as I’m neither an expert or professional. This blog is more about sharing my experiences as an everyday grower in a funny, honest way and I hope you enjoy it.

I have another, more general blog http://jennylaville.wordpress.com/ where I am witty and erudite on a variety of subjects, whereas in this blog I specifically waffle on about plants.
